CDC Africa launches two-year fellowship in Public Health Informatics for African professionals

The African Epidemic Service (AES), an initiative of CDC Africa (the African Union's technical agency for public health), is offering a specialized fellowship in Public Health Informatics. This two-year program aims to train Africans capable of developing and managing IT-savvy healthcare organizations, in order to improve healthcare systems on the continent in the digital age

 

What is CDC Africa ?

CDC Africa's mission is to strengthen the capacity of African public health institutions to effectively control, prevent, detect and respond to disease threats and outbreaks through science-, policy- and data-driven interventions. The training of public health professionals is a major focus of their mandate.

Who can apply ? 

The call for applications for the first cohort of the African Epidemic Service - Public Health Informatics is open to qualified professionals from African Union member states from various fields such as health, informatics, data science or information science and technology.
