The Republic of Mauritius is opening its doors to talented African students through its annual scholarship program for the start of the 2026 academic year.

Purpose of the scholarship

This Mauritian government initiative aims to support the country's ambition to become a major educational hub in Africa. It offers citizens of the African Union the chance to pursue higher education (Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate) in Mauritian public universities.

Benefits of the scholarship

Selected students will have their tuition fees and travel expenses to and from Mauritius fully covered.

Target public and conditions of eligibility

- Nationality : Must be a citizen of a member country of the African Union.
- Age : 
o For Bachelor's degree programs (1st cycle): 18 to 26 years old.
o For Master's and Doctorate programs: Under 40 years of age.
- Language : Must be able to follow courses in English.
- Level of study : Specific requirements may vary according to the field and level of study desired.
Deadlines and application procedures:
- The deadline for submitting online applications is April 23, 2025, physical applications must be sent to the Mauritian Ministry of Education no later than April 30, 2025.

Candidates must apply via the ministerial department or partner organization designated by the Mauritian Ministry of Education in their country.
