Guinea prepares to set up a 100% digital village dedicated to professional training

A digital village is imminently expected in Guinea. The budget for the related work amounts to 10 million dollars. Announcement made Monday, March 20, 2023 by the Minister of Technical Education, Vocational Training and Employment, Alpha Bacar Barry. It was on the occasion of the official opening of a workshop on the project "transformation of the National School of Posts and Telecommunications Kipé, in National School of Digital".

The project will be supported by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the French Development Agency (AFD), the German International Development Cooperation Agency (GIZ) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). For Alpha Bacar Barry, Minister of Technical Education, Vocational Training and Employment, this project aims not only to involve all generations but also to provide them with adequate infrastructure.

"We want to build a village to deal with the digital issue, from kindergarten to university. But not only training courses. We also want to set up infrastructures for reception, encouragement, continuous training, capacity building, laboratory, financing for all digital stakeholders in Guinea," said Alpha Bacar Barry.

The village will include training profiles, incubators, laboratories, training rooms and coworking spaces to develop digital made in Guinea.
