USD 1 million at stake through the Apps UP competition
The Huawei Global App Innovation Contest, Apps UP for short, was launched on June 24, 2022, with entries open worldwide.
Organised by one of the world's leading information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure providers, Huawei, the theme of this year's contest is "Innovating Together".
What is Apps UP?
Broadly speaking, the competition is an event that brings together the skills of developers from around the world to build an ecosystem of applications that link everything together in an intelligent way.
It aims to inspire developers to innovate, to bring people, devices and scenarios together, and to create coherent application experiences based on seamless artificial intelligence.
Since its inception, the competition has attracted more than 10,000 developers and provides a platform for these IT professionals to explore their dreams.
Awards set
The competition consists of three stages: registration and submission, preliminary examination, public examination and regional finals. At the end of these stages, several awards are up for grabs:
- The prize for the best social impact application,
- the prize for all the scenarios,
- the award honouring women in technology, this year the China region adds the Huawei Best Mobile Services (HMS) Innovation Award,
- the Student Innovation Award, recognising outstanding student developers who submit innovative programmes, among others.
