Unicef Guinea Bissau is seeking a content developer, a graphic designer and an Editor / Language & Content Reviewer

We are seeking three online volunteers to support the development of a practical School Guide on the Use of Suggestion Boxes as a safe and confidential reporting mechanism for school-related violence, including sexual harassment and abuse. The guide will target school staff, students, parents, and community members across five regions in Guinea-Bissau.

The volunteers will work under the coordination of the UNICEF Education team and the Directorate-General for Basic and Secondary Education (DGEBS), using existing national materials such as the Multisectoral Mechanism for Prevention and Response to School-Based Sexual Violence.

Assignment requirements

Required experience

We are looking for three motivated and collaborative online volunteers with the following profiles:

Volunteer 1 – Content Developer - Background in Education, Child Protection, Human Rights, Communication, or related fields. - Experience in writing and structuring technical or educational documents for diverse audiences. - Ability to write clearly and concisely in Portuguese (mandatory). - Knowledge of school environments in developing countries is an asset.

Volunteer 2 – Graphic Designer - Experience in layout design, visual storytelling, or editorial design (print and digital). - Ability to create infographics and child-friendly visuals. - Proficiency with graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator). - Creative mindset and ability to work with written content provided by others.

Volunteer 3 – Editor / Language & Content Reviewer - Strong skills in proofreading and language editing in Portuguese. - Familiarity with inclusive, age-appropriate, and rights-based language. - Experience reviewing or editing educational, social, or development-related materials. - Attention to clarity, tone, coherence, and accuracy.

The work is online for 5 weeks, and candidates must have a professional level of Portuguese.
