The African Union, CIEFFA and ImpactHER offer grants to African entrepreneurs

Until 31 July, Africans can apply for an AU training programme. The programme, which focuses on digital literacy, financial literacy and entrepreneurship, aims to promote and defend gender equality in education on the continent.

The African Union's International Centre for Girls' and Women's Education in Africa (African Union CIEFFA) and ImpactHER, a non-profit organisation working to empower women entrepreneurs in Africa, are organising an online training course in the fields of digital literacy, financial literacy and entrepreneurship.

The course is aimed at people of African nationality living on the continent or in the diaspora, as well as female teachers who wish to strengthen their ability to teach in the targeted areas. Candidates for this programme must have access to a good Internet connection and a device, as well as a good understanding of one of the training languages: English, French or Portuguese.

The training aims to address the challenges faced by young women and men in Africa, particularly in the areas of digital literacy, financial literacy and entrepreneurship. It also aims to build the capacity of female teachers to effectively transmit digital literacy and science subjects.

The training will start in August 2023. The pilot phase of the training took place in May/June 2023 with 106 successful candidates from CIEFFA's African Union youth programmes, representing 54 African Union Member States and the Diaspora.

The deadline for applications is 31 July.
