The Academy of Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) is calling for applications for its vocational training bursaries for Cameroonian women entrepreneurs in all sectors of activity.

Objectives and benefits of the scholarship

This training programme, funded by the US Department of State, aims to support female entrepreneurship and build the capacity of 40 women entrepreneurs in Cameroon to make their businesses viable and sustainable.

The beneficiaries will be briefed on the financing and investment mechanisms available to develop their businesses. In addition to accessing free tools, they will be integrated into a network of dynamic women with opportunities for inspiration and peer-to-peer learning.

Eligibility criteria

To apply for this scholarship, you must be :

  • A Cameroonian citizen or woman of Cameroonian nationality residing in Cameroon,
  • At the head of one of the following structures :

- a social or commercial enterprise focused on the professional development of women,

- a strategy firm, consultancy or expertise agency, an organisation working for the financial empowerment of women,

- a business incubator, accelerator or start-up that supports women,

- a women's cooperative or joint initiative group (GIC),

- a recognised association or community group of women doing business or trading together.

Applicants must have between 2 and 5 years' business experience, computer skills and internet access to take part in the programme. They must also commit to working at least 5 hours a week for the 6 months of the programme.
