Young African professionals from ECA member States have until 26 January 2023 at 11:59 a.m. (Addis Ababa time) to apply for the fellowship programme opened by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.
The programme aims to build the capacity of selected human resources to contribute to the development of member states. These resources will benefit from practical experience in the UN environment.
Potential candidates must :
- be a national of an ECA member state,
- be at least 35 years of age,
- hold a graduate degree in economics, development studies, political economy, international affairs, political and social sciences, peace and human security, public administration, law, minerals and natural resources, etc.
- have professional experience in one of the above fields.
Fluency in English or French is required and knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.
The various posts are spread over several duty stations, therefore the selected candidates must make themselves available for the duty station decided for each by the Commission.
ECA will cover the cost of transport from the country of residence to the duty station; and will pay candidates settling-in allowances and a monthly allowance until the end of the programme.
