Alain Nteff (photo), promoter of the start-up Healthlane, which has developed an eponymous application, announced on September 7, 2020 on his Twitter account, that he had successfully completed a fundraising operation aimed at raising 1.3 billion FCFA. This fundraising was done through crowdfunding, a participative financing technique widely used by start-ups.

The money raised by the 28-year-old computer engineer, a graduate of the National Polytechnic School in Yaoundé, the Cameroonian capital, will be used to develop the Healthlane application, which already boasts more than 60,000 users in Cameroon and Nigeria. It is a platform combining remote and on-the-ground medical services. It is a meeting point for individuals, doctors, hospitals and other pharmacies.

"Don't spend five hours waiting to receive care. Make an appointment with healthlane and be received immediately upon your arrival. (...) A doctor dedicated to the health of your family, allowing you to make informed decisions and offering you unlimited health services", says the platform, which also allows for remote consultations, home medical visits, drug deliveries...

Healthlane is the second find of the young Cameroonian entrepreneur Alain Nteff, after GiftedMom. This other medical services application reminds pregnant women, by SMS, of the dates of their prenatal visits to hospitals, or the dates of vaccinations for children.

 Thanks to this service, it is officially reported that the number of deaths following childbirth has considerably decreased in the areas where the GiftedMom project is implemented, and partner health centers have seen their prenatal consultation rate increase by 35% in 2 years. The GiftedMom innovation has enabled the young Cameroonian start-up to win several international awards.
