Tribute to Mrs Blandine L'or Ouoguia

It was with deep sadness that we learned of the death of Blandine L'Or Ouoguia, an emblematic figure of the forestry community in Cameroon.

Her unwavering commitment to sustainable forest management, her defence of the corporation's interests, her leadership and above all her unequalled expertise left their mark on many companies in the sector and on the people working with her.

She took part in the negotiations for the signing of the Voluntary Partnership Agreement between Cameroon and the European Union (APV/FLEGT), which subsequently earned her the title of Knighthood in the Order of Valour on an exceptional basis.

She was a board member and treasurer of the Cameroon Pan-African Forest Certification Scheme (PAFC Cameroon). Until her death, she was the general delegate of the Cameroon Wood Sector Group (GFBC).

Madame Blandine was much more than an accomplished professional. She was a visionary and a friend to many of us.

At this difficult time, we would like to express our most sincere condolences to her family, friends and the entire forestry community.
We share your pain and will always remember her legacy and its positive impact on our environment.

May his soul rest in peace.
