Samsung: everything you need to know about the Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra

On February 11, Samsung will announce its new Galaxy S20 series. Based on official information, leaks and rumors, a sketch of the future star of Android smartphones.

Dimensions: Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra

The small Galaxy S20 would feature a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen, the Galaxy S20+ would have a large 6.7-inch slab, while the Galaxy S20 Ultra would break a record with a giant 6.9-inch screen. That's huge. The front camera of these smartphones (10 Mpix).

 Impressive configurations

The Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra are rumoured to be equipped with 4000 mAh, 4500 mAh and 5000 mAh batteries respectively. The first two models are said to be capable of ultra-fast 25W recharging, while the best version is said to be up to 45W, recharging in just over an hour. 12GB of RAM would be present in the S20 and S20+... compared to 16GB of RAM in the S20 Ultra. Again, this is a record.

Samsung wants to win the photo war

On the S20 and S20+, we should find a 12 Mpix main sensor, a telephoto lens with a x3 zoom attached to a 64 Mpix sensor, an ultra-wide-angle (sensor of unknown definition) and a ToF sensor.

On the S20 Ultra, the most interesting model of the three, we should find a 108 Mpix (!) main sensor, a 10x periscopic zoom attached to a 48 Mpix sensor, an ultra-wide-angle attached to a 12 Mpix sensor and a ToF sensor. The 10x zoom of the S20 Ultra could be the most impressive in the world, ahead of the 5x of the Huawei P30 Pro. Samsung is also said to offer a 100x digital zoom. Finally, the three models of S20 should support 8K recording.

All 5G ?

Only one thing is sure, Samsung will offer 5G versions of its new Galaxy S20. What we don't know is if the brand will be satisfied with these models or if "4G Only" editions will also be released. In many countries, the 5G is still a long way off and the brand might be tempted to reserve the 5G for a few models, such as the S20 Ultra.

Price and release date

It is difficult to comment on these specific points. The S20s will be introduced on February 11th and should be launched between late February and early March according to brand habits. Given their characteristics, the cheapest of these smartphones should cost at least 800 euros. With its spectacular configuration, the S20 Ultra will inevitably be sold at a higher price.
