The 4th edition of the MED'INNOVANT AFRICA competition has been launched on the theme of "Innovating for sustainable Mediterranean and African territories".

This year, the competition is focusing on the fight against climate change in African and Mediterranean cities. It is open to all start-ups and SMEs, both international and especially African, developing innovative solutions to climate change and, more broadly, to development and sustainability objectives.

For the organisers, the aim is to promote projects in line with one or more of the following sub-themes :
- Energy innovation in the face of climate change,
- Optimisation of water management,
- Reuse of materials,
- Soft mobility.
These projects must take place in the Euroméditerranée area, i.e. the Aix-Marseille-Provence metropolitan area.

The five projects selected for the final will then take part in the Emerging Valley 2023 summit to be held on November 27 and 28. Among the finalists, two winners will be chosen, one as the Jury Prize and the other as the "Coup de Coeur" prize.
They will receive funding worth €7,000 and €2,500 respectively.

Entries are due between 1 July and 31 August 2023 and must be submitted online via the organisation's website.
