Huawei officially launches its Huawei Women Developers program to drive technology innovation

Huawei has officially launched its HUAWEI Women Developers (HWD) program, which aims to empower women developers to create applications and tools that can change the world. The program aims to encourage more women to participate in technology innovation by providing participants with more opportunities and frameworks for career development and professional training. Any female developer from around the world can apply for the program on the official HUAWEI Developers website.

Huawei believes that in the digital age, women need more opportunities and support to ensure they have access to the education and training they need to be fundamentally competitive in the digital economy. Equipping women with these skills has proven to be conducive to social inclusion and the creation of inclusive and diverse societies.

Huawei Senior Vice President Catherine Chen said, "We believe that women will lead technology innovation. Thus, we hope the HUAWEI Women Developers program will help women better leverage their talents and unique value, and give them the opportunity to demonstrate their leadership capabilities. This will help make our world a better place. "

The HUAWEI Women Developers program is the latest initiative undertaken by Huawei as part of its commitment to gender equality. The program will provide participants with training on technological innovation and professional development paths, as well as the opportunity to meet with leading technology experts from different industries and participate in hands-on exercises. The group hopes to create a community dedicated to women developers on the HUAWEI Developers platform, and organize a series of online and face-to-face events.

Through its Shining-Star program, Huawei is also offering incentives for women developers to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship. Participants in this program who have developed outstanding projects with high potential will have the opportunity to be featured in future campaigns and invited to other official Huawei events.

To date, Huawei has successfully launched similar digital skills training programs for women in many countries including South Africa, Kenya, Ireland, Argentina and Bangladesh. More than 30% of participants in other Huawei ICT training programs, such as Seeds for the Future, are women.
