Huawei Mate Xs : release in March 2020, here is the latest news

The Huawei Mate Xs, the successor to the foldable Mate Xs, is expected to hit the market in March 2020. The smartphone would be equipped with an improved center hinge and a more robust folding screen. In order to appeal to more consumers, Huawei has decided to lower the price of its flagship product. Discover the latest information available.

Huawei's Mate Xs is expected to hit the market in March 2020, report our Chinese colleagues from MyDrivers. The foldable smartphone will be presented at a conference at the MWC 2020 in Barcelona at the end of February 2020. Unsurprisingly, the Mate Xs would therefore be commercialized (probably only in China) a few weeks after its official presentation.

Citing sources close to the industry, the media claims that the Mate Xs is less difficult to produce than the first generation. The group has also reportedly managed to drastically increase its production capacity. Under these conditions, Huawei is expected to offer the Mate Xs at a slightly lower price than the Mate Xs. As a reminder, the Mate X is currently sold on the Chinese market at a price of 16,999 yuan, or 2400 dollars. Thanks to a new price positioning, the brand hopes to attract more buyers. Since its release in China in November, Huawei has already sold nearly 200,000 foldable smartphones.

According to MyDrivers, Huawei has made numerous adjustments to the design and structure of the Mate Xs. In particular, the firm has reworked the hinge that allows the screen to fold. The new version would therefore be more "resistant and stable". In a recent interview, Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei's mobile division, had already teased out the new hinge on the Mate Xs. This new mechanism is called "Falcon Wing Hinge Mecanism", revealed Richard Yu.

Even the sound of the bell on the side of the folding screen would now be more durable, MyDrivers said. Finally, the foldable smartphone would also be more compact than its predecessor. According to the latest news, this new generation would be powered by the Mate 30's SoC Kirin 990, be 5G compatible and feature a quad photo sensor on the back. We'll tell you more about the Mate Xs as soon as we can.
