Group Transcribe, Microsoft's application for transcribing and translating your group conversations.

Microsoft has just unveiled Groupe Transcribe, a software that allows group conversations to be transcribed and translated on the fly.

The developers at Microsoft Garage, Microsoft's experimental laboratory, are resourceful. Their latest project, Group Transcribe, is a mobile application to transcribe and translate group conversations on the fly. To work, all participants in the group conversation must have the application installed on their device. After filling in their name and native language, they join an online conversation and can start chatting by speaking into the microphone of their own smartphone. The application is currently only available on the iPhone.

Group Transcribe is in charge of transcribing, and possibly translating on the fly, the words of each participant, identifying each protagonist. The application currently supports more than 80 languages. Through Group Transcribe, Microsoft hopes to offer a solution to people with hearing problems to be able to follow a conversation more easily. All transcribed conversations are then recorded and archived in the application for future reference.

Transcribe Group is not Microsoft's first initiative in transcribing group conversations. A few days ago, at its Ignite event in Redmond, the Redmond-based company unveiled its Intelligent Speakers, connected loudspeakers that work with Teams and are capable of transcribing and translating the words of up to ten people at the same time.
