Gabon's forests : Evergreen obtains FSC certification Â
According to an announcement by the Gabon Special Economic Zone (Gsez), the company Evergreen Gabon, controlled by Indian capital and operating in the Nkok Special Economic Zone, has just obtained the FSC™ "Chain of Custody (COC)" certification for a period of 5 years.
"Thanks to the implementation of a number of procedures and operations, the establishment of a QHSE [Quality, Hygiene, Safety and Environment] department to train in occupational safety and health and the compliance control of machines with Aganor [Gabonese agency of the standard], Evergreen Gabon is now part of the FSC™ COC-certified companies, which are the pride of Gsez and Gabon's influence internationally," explains Gsez.
Also, thanks to its certificate, Evergreen proves that it is possible to trace the origin of the pieces of wood that make up its certified products, which are from sustainably managed forests, controlled resources or recycled materials.
Established in the Nkok zone since 2016, Evergreen Gabon is a company specialized in secondary processing where it produces and markets veneer sheets exclusively in Okoumé wood, for companies operating in the zone, but also exports its products to the European and Asian markets.
