Protect QV holds competition for best illustration of digital rights
Protect QV is organising a competition to find the best illustration of digital rights. The competition is part of the Digital Rights Awareness Week organised by Protège QV from 04 to 09 December, and is a prelude to World Human Rights Day on 10 December 2023.
The aim is to promote a better understanding of the concept of "Digital Rights" among the general public, and to raise awareness of the fact that human rights must be respected both online and offline.
How can I enter the competition ?
The competition is open to young men and women aged between 18 and 30 and living in Cameroon. To enter the competition, candidates must send an email to mail@protegeqv.org with the subject line "Register for the competition" and leave the body of the message blank. Candidates will receive a message with the competition rules, which set out the entry and selection procedures in detail. Candidates must then send their illustration as an attachment to the above e-mail address.
Illustrations must represent the following three (03) digital rights, as defined by the African Declaration on Internet Rights and Freedoms, namely :
- freedom of assembly and association and the internet,
- the right to information on the Internet,
- protection of privacy on the Internet.
The awards
Three illustrations will be selected and their authors rewarded as follows :
- 1st Prize: one hundred thousand (100,000) CFA francs;
- 2nd Prize: seventy-five thousand (75,000) FCFA;
- 3rd Prize: fifty thousand (50,000) FCFA.
The three best illustrations will be used to raise public awareness of digital rights protection.
The deadline for submissions is midnight on 04 December 2023. The results will be available on 09 December 2023 via the media and on the PROTEGE QV website.
