The Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) on Monday opened applications for the training programme focusing on software development, business and entrepreneurship.

The MEST training programme is an intensive 12-month full-time programme for budding entrepreneurs called ''EIT''. It aims to give them the skills to master industry-proven methodologies for building world-class technology companies.

It includes training and extensive hands-on project work. All TISs receive a full scholarship to attend the one-year training course, which is open to individuals with a university degree or advanced technical college (or equivalent experience). 

Participants in the programme will benefit from meetings with the network of partner investors, with the possibility of receiving seed funding and entering the MEST portfolio for business incubation.

MEST's goal is to create wealth and jobs across the African continent. To achieve this, the incubation centre is looking for the most ambitious and ethical individuals with a strong desire to build a scalable software company in Africa.

Deadlines for the current season :

• Applications open - 12 December 2022
• Closing of applications - 26 February 2023
• Final interviews - April and May 2023 in Accra, Lagos, Dakar, Nairobi and Johannesburg
• Training programme starts in August 2023 in Accra, Ghana
