The messaging application provides a tool to more easily remove the heaviest photos and videos from WhatsApp threads.

 How does it work in practice?

To access this storage management tool, simply go to the WhatsApp settings, then to the Data Usage and Storage section, and then to Manage Storage. You'll find a new interface where the application will tell you how much WhatsApp media you have left and how much free storage you have left.

WhatsApp then sorts the media into two categories to help you sort through the media:

- those that have been transferred multiple times

- those over 5 Mb

When you access one of these 2 categories, you can preview the files and then check the ones you wish to delete. In a few seconds, it is possible to free up space by deleting the largest files.
