The 2025-2026 ARES scholarships are available until 18 October 2024 !
The call for applications for ARES scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year is open. These ARES scholarships offer you the opportunity to follow a one-year bachelor's or master's degree course or a 2 to 6-month continuing education course in a Wallonia-Brussels Federation establishment in Belgium.
Who can apply ?
Anyone interested in this call for applications must
- Be a national of, reside in and work in one of the 31 eligible countries (list below);
- hold a higher education diploma
- Have at least two years' relevant professional experience in an ARES partner country.
Eligible countries :
- In Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Guinea, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, DR Congo, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
- In South America and the Caribbean: Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, Haiti, Peru.
- South-East Asia: Cambodia, Indonesia, Nepal, Philippines, Vietnam.
- In Asia: Palestinian Territory.
The scholarship includes :
- International travel expenses ;
- Subsistence allowance;
- Exceptional costs related to visa applications (only for Bachelor's and Master's degree specialisations);
- Indirect mission expenses (for continuing education courses only);
- Insurance costs.

You can apply online via the GIRAF platform. You need to create an account, fill in the online form and submit it no later than 12 noon on 18 October 2024.
