At CES 2020, Lenovo Introduces the First Foldable Notebook with 5G Compatibility


At the dawn of this new decade, the foldable is undeniably fashionable. After smartphones and tablets, folding fever has spread to laptops. At CES 2020 in Las Vegas, Dell showcased itsOri, its prototype 13-inch foldable laptop with a 13-inch screen. However, the American company was not the first to have thought of it.

 Just a few months ago, the Chinese manufacturer Lenovo unveiled its ThinkPad X1 Fold, the first of its kind, which is primarily intended for professional users. Running under Windows 10x, the operating system designed specifically for this type of product, it features an OLED 2K touch screen capable of folding on itself, informs Le journal du geek.

At CES, this foldable laptop was formally presented to the general public. The ThinkPad X1 Fold," made of light alloys and carbon fiber, has a leather cover" and comes with a stylus. Lenovo has announced that it will be available in the second quarter of 2020 at a price of approximately €2,230, but has not specified when it will be available in Europe.

The Chinese company has also focused on 5G by introducing what it calls "the world's first 5G notebook". Soberly named Yoga 5G, this computer is an ultra-portable with a rotating screen. It is the first to be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx 5G processor, making it natively compatible with the 5G network. The Yoga 5G will be available in Europe in spring 2020 for €1,299.
