55,000 at stake in Africa's digital innovation competition open until June 30, 2022
The Africa Digital Innovation Awards is a competition that recognizes innovators, entrepreneurs, and startups that develop digital solutions (products and services) that have a positive impact on Africa.
It is organized annually by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the African AmChams, which are independent, non-profit business organizations that promote investment between their countries and the U.S.
This competition focuses on three main themes :
- Fintech and Cyber Solutions: covering data flow solutions, cross-border digital platform solutions, mobile technology, among others.
- Sustainability and Supply Chain Solutions: smart manufacturing, e-commerce, etc.
- Solutions for human development and social services: digital health solutions, e-learning platform.
How to apply ?
To apply, you must be a startup with majority African capital, free of any commitment with a state and based in an African country. You must then complete the online application form, upload a two-minute video presentation of your product or innovation to the website or email it to info@africadigitalinnovationcompetition.org.
The deadline to apply is June 30, 2022 at 12:00 GMT.
Awards
The main prizes for this edition are :
- 1st Prize: $25,000 consisting of $15,000 in prize money, a six-month mentorship at a Fortune 500 technology company and a one-year subscription to digital tools/platforms,
- 2nd Prize: $15,000 consisting of $10,000 in cash, a 6-month mentorship with a technology company and a 6-month subscription to digital tools/platforms,
- 3rd Prize: $10,000 with $5,000 cash, a three-month mentorship with a technology company and a three-month subscription to digital tools/platforms.
In addition, five regional champions will be named and will receive a $5,000 prize, a recognition plaque and receive a three-month mentorship with a company in their thematic area.
